Yesterday, the Church of England’s House of Bishops issued this statement about the unfolding situation in the Holy Land. Following his pastoral visit to Jerusalem last week, Archbishop Justin is encouraging individuals and churches to support a fundraising appeal for the Anglican Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza – which, despite the devastating explosion last week, continues to seek to care for those in need in the region. The list of organisations that are receiving funds for the appeal can be found here.Â

We are looking to recruit a new Office Manager as the current postholder is retiring
in November. This is a paid position for a flexible 20 hours a week.
O God of all justice and peace,
we cry out to you in the midst of the pain and trauma of violence and fear which prevails in the Holy Land.Â
Be with those who need you in these days of suffering;
we pray for people of all faiths –
Jews, Muslims and Christians and for all people of the land.Â
While we pray to you, O Lord, for an end to violence and the establishment of peace, we also call for you to bring justice and equity to the peoples.
Guide us into your kingdom where all people are treated with dignity and honour as your children – for to all of us you are our Heavenly Father.Â
In Jesus’ name we pray,Â
Amen. Â
Prayer approved by Archbishop Hosam Naoum of Jerusalem.
