December Cinema – A Christmas Classic

A Festive Cinema Returns 17th December

with a matinee film that’s fun for everyone

at 4pm we will be showing “The Muppets Christmas Carol” – Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie and the entire cast of the Muppet universe come together to re-tell Charles Dicken’s immortal classic “A Christmas Carol” This was the first time the Muppets appeared on screen since Jim Henson’s death in 1990. Michael Caine gives a magnificent performance as Ebenezer Scrooge in a world full of muppet comedy and almost scary performances from the “Ghosts of Christmas past, present, and yet to come”

All our films are shown with subtitles so everyone can enjoy the film.

The Shirley Scarecrow Festival is now on!

The 3rd year of the Shirley Scarecrow Festival is now on and the 24 ‘Nursery Rhyme’ themed scarecrows are looking amazing despite the wet weather and winds!

Here’s a trail map of all the locations (and list) and the Just Giving page if you’d like to donate to the wonderful Charity Demelza Hospice Care for Children. You can also donate at 60, Bennetts Way if you’d prefer. Please show your appreciation to the wonderful Scarecrow builders and the generous community and businesses by giving whatever you can. We hope you enjoy the festival and have fun and huge thanks to Stef England for organising it again.

All Souls at St John’s

Our Shed was filled with Light for our All Souls Service yesterday as we prayed for those we have lost, who have passed to a greater Light and Peace.

“The Lord redeems the life of his servants, and is near to the broken-hearted.” Ps.34
